Everybody knows that good cabbies can be hard to find, but Harvey Monroe is the smiling driver who always has time to help – just ask Jean Slater, who has found a kindred spirit in the easy-going chap.

But dig a little closer and there’s more to Harvey Monroe. There’s a sadness that been with him since his divorce that never seems far away and his children have left home, leaving him lonely.

He thrown himself into his work as a distraction and tried to make peace with the victims of his son’s actions, but Harvey is still struggling, without his best friends Mitch and Rocky to turn to.

Still, you’d never know to look at him: Harvey isn’t one to grumble: he simply carries on the best he can – and that’s why we love him!
