Born to Little Mo Slater after a sexual assault, there were lots of rolling eyes when Mo decided to keep baby Freddie. She was keen to assign no blame to the child for the actions of his father, and bravely left Walford to raise him alone.
Cue nearly two decades later and energetic Freddie returned to Albert Square and instantly made an impression on everybody! The girls liked him (Anna – who’s he’ was completely in love with but won’t do anything about), the guys wanted be him (Bobby looked up to him as an older brother) and his boundless enthusiasm and random comments, courtesy of his adult-diagnosed ADHD, made him a fantastic guy at parties!
With Bobby gone, Freddie and Anna made a go of things, bonding over bird-watching of all things, but a dalliance with her sister Gina put the kibosh on the romance. But this was Walford, and Anna and Freddie eventually rekindled their flame and set off travelling together, starting with Australia.
