Name: Elaine Knight
First Appeared: 14th October 2014
Played by: Harriet Thorpe

With a love of all things theatrical and a true show woman, Elaine Peacock has spent her entire adult life making sure the punters on the other side of the bar get what she wants them to get: friendly, entertaining service with a smile. And she’d go all out to do it too, insisting that only she could do it justice.

That’s not to say Elaine is pushy and ill-tempered. No she’s got a heart of gold and has become a highlight of happy hour, her relationship with George and his girls showing a vulnerability we’ve never seen before.

We’re also finally started to see her understand and change her relationship with her daughter: it’s always been a case of being too similar with Elaine and Linda, who was her daddy’s girl. But now, it seems, they’re finally starting to bond and be there for each other as mother and daughter, instead of the rivals we’ve seen them as before…
