All the latest updates and news down Walford way!

We love to hate the villains at EastEnders. Over the years, we’ve even cheered on some of them! But the big ones always remain in Walford in spirit: Den Watts, Andy Hunter, Johnny Allen, Paul Trueman… Just some of the bad boys who, despite their myriad of crimes, we just can’t bring ourselves to hate them completely.
Over the last few years, we’ve been watching Ravi Gulati. Now, some of us here at the Walford Walk base have been desperately hoping he gets the help he needs. Mind you, the woman in finance said that he deserves everything he gets!
Yes, Ravi has done wrong, but the human part of us would maybe love him to get some help, be the dad he’s destined to be, and make Priya a happy woman for the rest of her natural…

Of course, he doesn’t live in a romantic-comedy, he’s in a soap opera, and in soap the only way to go is down! This week, Priya notices more about Ravi’s behaviour when he gets involved in a big mess with Mark Fowler and the head of their criminal gang.
Mark isn’t dull and has his suspicions that Ravi is the informant he’s searching for – and Priya’s denials keep making it worse! Driven crazy by his paranoia, Ravi drives him and Mark out of the Square to Walford Common, determined to have it out with his potential nemesis once and for all! And while Priya panics, she tells Vicki all about her brother’s criminal dealings!

While all that’s going on, war is brewing elsewhere on the Square and this time, no surprise, Max is right in the centre of it. First, he asks Lauren if he can invest in the car lot. Then, he reveals he plans to take it over!
Lauren’s not having that, of course and, later in the week while trying to sell a car, she’s attacked by a thug. Mark comes to her rescue… Is this the start of something Lauren may later regret? Is Mark who she was talking to in the flashforward?

Elsewhere this week, Lexi continues to miss Nigel, and cuts school. And while Ian and Elaine enjoy one-upping each other, Oscar has a way he can use the situation to his advantage. But how?
You’ve got to watch that boy at all times, haven’t you?
Until next time…

Mark faces fresh pressure from the gang to get rid of the informant, so he confronts Ravi. Although Ravi tries his best to call Mark’s bluff, Priya accidentally ruins this progress when she arouses Mark’s suspicions.
Later, Priya finds Mark looking through her and Ravi’s flat for evidence. She thinks quickly, spinning a lie to Mark about Ravi’s relationship with Jack. The situation escalates when Priya spots Ravi recklessly driving out of the Square with Mark in tow.
Meanwhile, Lauren considers buying the car lot after discovering that it’s up for sale, but she’s rejected by the bank for a loan. Ian suggests that Lauren should ask Max for the money, but he refuses.
Elsewhere, Ian gets Oscar on board for his ‘councillor Beale’ campaign.
Also today, Phil accompanies Sam to radiotherapy as he’s avoiding going to see Nigel in the care home.

Priya fears for Ravi’s safety and approaches Vicki, who’s shocked to learn that Mark is involved with a gang. Over at Walford Common, Ravi confesses the truth to Mark and goads him into a fight.
It’s clear that Ravi is struggling with his mental health. Once he’s back in Walford, Priya cleans him up after the fight and discovers his self-harm scars.
Meanwhile, Max changes his mind and tells Lauren that he’ll invest in the car lot after all.
Father and daughter celebrate at The Vic, but their separate conversations with Jack and Peter make it clear that they have very different ideas on how their business partnership will run!

Ravi avoids answering her questions, so Priya takes matters into her own hands by tracking down Jack. She warns him that Ravi has compromised his position as an informant.
When Priya later encourages Ravi to go to the doctors, he breaks down in her arms.
Meanwhile, Ross tries to reassure Vicki that she’s safe, despite Mark’s involvement with the gang. Mark is annoyed with both of them for getting involved. He makes it very clear to Ross that he’ll have to hand over the informant to guarantee Vicki’s safety.
Elsewhere, Lauren is annoyed when she realises that Max is planning to run the business. She tries to prove herself as she vows to sell a classic car in 24 hours.
Also today, Callum becomes concerned about Lexi, who pretends to be unwell so she can miss school and spend the day with Phil and Sam.

Lauren takes Mark out for a drive when he shows interest in buying the classic car. He later admits that he doesn’t have the funds to purchase it, but agrees to buy her lunch to make up for his ruse.
Later, Mark leaves Lauren alone for a moment. A thug arrives and attacks Lauren, before speeding off with the car. Mark rushes in to help Lauren and takes her back to the Square, where Max and Peter are waiting for her.
Meanwhile, Vicki asks Phil for help.
Elsewhere, Ravi goes to see the doctor with Priya and is put on the waiting list for the mental health team, with a medication plan in the meantime. Ravi tries to cover how he really feels and assures Priya that he’s on the road to recovery.
Also today, Ian and Elaine discover that Oscar is playing them both, so they sack him.
