Gloria Knight brought with her a whirlwind of secrets and a touch of old-world charm when she arrived in early 2024. As the adoptive mother of George Knight and the wife of Eddie Knight, Gloria’s arrival in Walford was anything but quiet. Her past, filled with heartache and resilience had taken its toll: Gloria had suffered multiple miscarriages in her younger years, leading her and Eddie to adopt George from an African couple in the 1960s.

Gloria’s relationship with George was complex. Initially, George believed he was of Jamaican descent, but Gloria’s arrival unearthed long-buried truths. It was revealed that George’s biological parents had paid Gloria and Eddie to adopt him, a revelation that shook George to his core.

Eddie’s dark past came to light when it was discovered that he had been involved in the murder of a black man named Henry Asare in 1984. This revelation led to a confrontation between George and Eddie, with Gloria caught in the middle. Her steadfast support for her husband and her son kept her divided.

The day of Eddie’s trial, in which it was clear he was going to be found guilty, Gloria keeled over, and she suffered a heart attack. She passed away in her son’s arms, finally free of the abusive man she had defended.
